Number 401-2 was a young female Barn Owl, or Tyto alba, who was stolen before her hatching by egg-snatchers of St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls to be raised in captivity. Her final fate following the Pure Ones' invasion of the Canyonland in unknown, but as a Tyto alba and given her young age, she might have been taken in by the Pure Ones to be indoctrinated into their twisted ideals and trained as a soldier.

The Capture[]
Kidnapped presumably from her nest before hatching by Skench's goons, the egg of this owlet was taken to the St. Aegolius eggorium, then the hatchery, where it was cared for by a broody belonging to the same species.
The hatching was beheld by Soren, who was nesting on a clutch of eggs neighboring the clutch of which 401-2's egg was a part of. As her egg tooth poked out, two Barred Owls that had come bustling over in answer to the reporting hatching signs split the eggshell and dumped the young chick out onto the nest before the horrified eyes of Soren, who boiled with silent rage to the emotionless way 401-2's handlers had treated her and contemplated that he would rather see this owlet dead that living the loveless life of living death in St. Aggie's.
