This series meant so much to me. It's honestly marvelous that I was out here reading a 15 book long series (by one author) that was gritty and deep like this. It tried to tackle big topics, and unlike the prophecy-based 15 book long Wings of Fire, its non-systemic change of focus makes it feel more realistic - you never know what you need to know.
That being said, it often failed exactly at whatever it was focusing on. The way owls appeared to be the dominant families should have been hand waved entirely, as it's weird for the corvids and magpies and seabirds to be in civilization but never addressed despite Tytonidae vs Strigidae conflict being the foreground. For all her annotations, Lasky could've just said "nest maid snakes are loos…
I think Guardians Of Ga'hoole is VERY UNDERRATED. Like actual. I wish more people knew about it.. so.. Why not work together to bring some more new people into the fandom! Wheter promoting it on OFF-TOPIC discussions in other wikis. Or tell about it to your friends!
I'm just making this post so nobody thinks something suspicious is happening.
Originally I created "OdelayOwl" to serve my twitter handle when ProjectOWL wasn't available. ProjectOWL used to be my go-to username but it was taken in several places, so I ended up being named various versions of OdelayOwl or ProjectOWL or ProjectOWL64 on several platforms.
About a year ago I started changing all my usernames to BrochJam, or making new accounts under that name. My Fandom username was the last holdout, but I think now I'll finally change it. The story behind the name "BrochJam" is kind of long winded but for those curious, I pronounce it "Brock Jam". I go by Broch on a lot of sites now too. I wrote this in the editing summary of the original Legend of the Guardians 2 page but it might get bogged down by edits, so I'm just putting my explanation here as well for good measure:
I noticed a LOT of misinformation floating around the internet when it came to LotG sequels, so I wanted to create this page as a sort of Snopes article. I just don't want people to get their hopes up and be disappointed when a sequel never comes. I also want to prevent people from making another fake "LotG 2" page on here, which has happened before.
1st: Is anyone sus about Cleve and Otulissa's relationship?
2nd: Does Twilight and Gylfie have some sort of relationship that no one knows about?
3rd: Does anyone think that Sylvana and Digger are in a relationship?
4th: Is Primrose and Eglantine gonna be single pringles forever?

Recently I was thinking about the film and I thought, why this movie didn't gross that much money. I think its because many fans of the book series didn't get what they expected: A movie that is actually following the story in the books. But the thing is, that the producers and directors had to cut things out, chamging few things, etc. because of the 90-min-rule for animation films. Seriously, I never saw an animation film that is longer than 90 min(without credits). If you know one, post it. So they had to put the content of three books in just 90 min and you know what happend.
Well I think, if they would do a remake of the movie, they should make at first 3 parts. Each part would be just 60 min long and follow only one book. Thats how th…
I am new on this site and hope everyone is friendly! I love these books and hope you do to. Bye!
I hate the changes they make to the movie and differ from the book. They only have one moon blinking. The Nyra vs Grimble fight origanally was in the library and it was just them. Now, in the movie, thier are a bunch of owls stoming the library. Also, Kludd went with Soren and became evil then. In the book he was already evil. Sad.
No, because an owl cannot live being burned and nowhere to fly out. It's impossible! Comment to tell me what u think!
This is an issue that's been discussed for quite a while... The topic of whether or not articles relating to Wolves of the Beyond characters should be on this wiki.
Indeed, it's a spin-off and takes place in the same universe, but it is also a series unto itself. I've looked through the Wolves of the Beyond Wiki, and I see that there's far more info about the characters there then what we offer here. There's also an abundance of dedicated fans taking care of that wiki. If you're looking for info about the wolves, that's the place to go. Hence, I've added a link to that wiki and some key pages to the wiki navigation at the top (It's "Wolves Wiki" because "Wolves of the Beyond Wiki" wouldn't fit.) since it's so closely affiliated.
Now, about t…
Howdy fellow owl fans!
(I apologize for the long links, I don't know how to embed them in words at the moment.)
Well, not long ago, my friend Snowstripe The Fierce founded a wiki for Guardians of Ga'hoole fanstuff, aptly titled the Guardians of Ga'hoole Fanon Wiki:
I've been taking more interest in that wiki, and seeing how people have been complaining about fanstuff on a wiki for canon characters, I think it might be best to start posting fan characters and fanfiction over there.
I moved some of my articles over there already, and I actually posted this advertisement on DeviantArt (arguably home to the most Guardians of Ga'hoole OCs and fanfiction on the web) to …
This will be based upon my (fanon) battle of King Soren and the Guardians, aiding The Resistance in Tyto Forest, while remnants of the Pure Ones are trying to take over the area. Enter your characters now. You can use canon or fanon characters.
Well, my birthday is technically on monday, but we had my party today with family and friends. We always get a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for my birthday, and ever since I could hold a pen and paper I've had artistic license over what gets drawn on my birthday cake. In recent years they've started using some sort of icing printer, which can print a photo right on to the cake. So, this year, this is the photo I chose....
I suppose this is more of a personal journal and not based on the Guardians of Ga'hoole, but I'd just like to announce that I've actually founded my own wiki: The Owl Keeper Wiki.
The Owl Keeper is a book by Christine Brodien-Jones. The main character, a young box named Max, lives in a dystopian future where the world (or at least his country) is ruled by the High Echelon, a dictatorship government with malicious intent. The High Echelon claimed the fabled Silver Owls have gone extinct, but Max befriends one, and also befriends a young rebel named Rose. Together they figure out what the government really has planned for Max, and attempt to run away and find The Owl Keeper of The Silver Prophecies.
I'd say the book is aimed at the same audien…
Howdy fellow fans of owls with helmets!
Now, I like digging up unique images for the wiki, especially from behind-the-scenes of the movie, and a lot of the most interesting images on her came from (I'm assuming) the video game. I only have the Nintendo DS version of the game, but I gather the versions for other consoles have a lot more graphics and detail. From what I can tell, movie-based video games are made during the production of the movie, before the final cut is devised, and therefore differ from the final movie. The DS game that I played actually seemed to be more faithful to the books then the movie was.
I've only seen a few screenshots and images from the game (I should probably watch some game plays..) but from what I can tell it …
As you can see, the Wiki Navigation (the tabs that are always at the top of the page) have been updated. It was looking pretty sad.. There was a tab called "rabdompage" when the Random Page option comes as a default, and the tab "NewPictures" which was a dead link. I originally just wanted to fix the grammar, but ended up fixing it entirely. There's now links to each book series, main characters, standout categories, help, and even fanstuff.
If you have any recommendations of what could be added to Navigation, just give me a holler.
Note: this is a proposed plotline and script for a sequel to the first Guardians of Ga'Hoole movie. It is a combination of: The Shattering, the Burning, and the Hatchling.
Begins with a shot of the starry night, in a lush forest. A fiery figure darts throught the night sky, looking like a comet. This fugure is Kludd, who had been brutally scarred by his brother Soren in the Battle of the Burning. He is screaming a death chant, one against the Guardians and especially Soren. He holds the mask of his former leader, Metal Beak, in his talons as he flies.
Kludd: *face scorched and in flames* Auugggghhhh!!!!! Death to the impure!!! Hail Metal Beak!! Death to the Guardians!! Death to Soren!! *dives into a pond, in an attempt to save his face* …
Alright, I'm here to get opinions!
Well, for a while now I've pondered about adding some pages about the people behind Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole. We have a page about Kathryn Lasky, the author, so I considered making a page about the director, Zach Snyder, and some of the voice actors, like Jim Sturgess (Soren) Anthony LaPaglia (Twilight) and Hugo Weaving (Noctus, Grimble).
I just wanted to inquire as many people as I could about this. So, do you think we should have a few pages about the people behind the movie? Leave your opinion in the comments below.
The pages don't have to be that complicated.. Same with any Wiki page about real-world animals or people on here, you don't have to post the whole Wikipedia article, just…
If you could chose to be larger than a female of your chosen bird species would you?
Well, I found these videos on YouTube some time ago, all on the channel LeskoAdam. I'm pretty sure he was actually an animator, or someone from Animal Logic who worked on the film.. At least that would explain how he had access to all these behind the scenes interviews, and videos of the rough layout of the digital characters and environments. I suggest you go check out his channel (I'll probably be posting screenshots on here) but here's a few stand-out videos:
This is a fully animated scene that was cut from the final movie, which was supposed to play before Noctus went out to hunt, which is the first scene in the final cut: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kXyFa0qDfT8

In the large forest kingdom Ambala, a beautiful green and luscious place filled with rivers, lakes, ponds, streams, creeks, tall grass, owls of all kinds, and as many mice, voles, shrews, centipedes, millipedes, and crickets you can eat, was a bird. No, not an owl, as many would expect, but a kestrel. Kestrels are peculiar birds, being small and light, yet near the top of the food chain wherever they are. Now, this kestrel was a female named Scandimore, who was a mother of five, yet her offspring had never seen their father. After the eggs were laid, the father and Scandimore had many arguments,…
This is my idea of how it could be the sequel of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, although I wish the whole adapt rather than the movie, I think this could be a sequel, I thought the title 'Legacy of the Guardians it sounded epic, so I put it like that, give me your opinion.perhaps I did not express well, but the idea is this:
Legacy of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole is a sequel to the 2010 film based on Kathryn Lasky's Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. Loosely follows the storyline of Books The Siege,The Shattering and The Burning
(Note: This summary contains only the main events of the movie, ingnorando big spoilers, except for some)

Hey all, anyone like roleplaying? Here's the link.
Anyway it's got roleplays with the wolves of the beyond clans; there's three, the MacAonairs, MacNeart and MacMora (along with a special one called the MacMyths that we made up; their pelts can be unnaturally coloured and they have special powers), but there's also a Guardians of Ga'Hoole roleplay. There's Pure Ones as well, and I am the head of the owl stuff, being most involved in them. We seriously need more users. There's only two active users, one of which is me. I've really spruced it up, putting pretty gifs from the LoTG movie and colourful boxes on the roleplay page to make it look lovely. Unfortunately, there's no one there to enjoy it.
Could you guys please consider it? Thank you ver…
I'm like the biggest Guardians of Ga'Hoole fan ever!! But I just have a question. On thr page Boron's Battle Claws, you talk about the difference of battle claws from the books and the movie and the descriptions that you gave that came from them are pretty much the same. Party hats are REALLY pointy and if your's aren't its probably just the type that you have of party hat and also what you said in the movie they are REALLY sharp. SAME THING!!
I just heard some very disturbing news. A new version of SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Acts) is on the verge of being passed. If it does, all fanart, fanfiction, and fan-made videos could be considered "piracy" and removed. If you don't want that to happen, sign the petition against it here: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/stop-sopa-2014/q0Vkk0Zr
Hi, I'm Oolamoo. I am going to start a project that I hope will make the most accurate map of the Island of Hoole and the Great Ga'Hoole Tree anywhere. I need as many people to contribute their imaginative details of the Great Tree and any other concrete details that are included in the books or from a trustworthy source. I will take all imput into account and hopefully include at least one detail from every imaginative imput and every concrete detail as well. I would like the concrete details separate from imaginative picture details for anyone who would like to post.
Here are some I have saved tabs for in the book and some that need answering:
- There is a stand of Birch trees on the island.
- The Islands shape is (most likely) how it is …
Hello! This is BCEngine more fomaly known as BC. I LOVE this series and the WOTB series and many more. Anyway nobody gets on here when I'm on, so I'll possibly see you in the chat sometime!
I spotted this - clcik the link, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the first dropbox. It says 'Rise of the Guardians: the Owls of Ga'Hoole.'
Is it true, then? Do we have to wait for a sequel in 2014? I do hope so. Hopefully it'll follow the storyline more this time.
I know I haven't been here for very long, but the admins are inactive and there's a lot of spam pages. I know Silverfang of ThunderClan said she hoped to adopt the wiki, but so far, I haven't seen her edit once. Though I can't adopt it for another 35 days...
If anyone sees this, please reply! I'd love to hear what you have to say about me being leader (if I get accepted).
What's the point of having articles for characters and books from the Wolves of the Beyond series on this wiki when there's a wiki for the Wolves of the Beyond?
I want to suggest this owl silohuette for owls with no images - agree?
I drew Soren on Paint! Not one of my greatest pieces of artwork (I said this so I don't start a war like on the DragonVale wiki).
I am just a fan, and a wikia user. This wiki seems perfect, seems like no editing for Count Desertstone :T
Well, I'm back after a long absence because I forgot about the Wiki >.< for anyone who doesn't know me, I'm Lachlana, an admin on the Wiki. I got my adminship from Gura because I was complaining how they were never there, and no one was able to delete spam pages without admin rights. Yea. So, sorry for not checking in and deleting spammy stuff.18:44, May 16, 2012 (UTC)Lachlana
It's a beginner Guardian reader's dream. Soren and Gylfie, together forever. They overcame so much.
But what would have happened?
- Three B's would never had been born.
- Possible ridicule from other owls.
- Kathryn would make us so happy.
- They might have a better relationship than Soren and Pellimore.
Hi, I'm new on this wiki! Well, if you want, check out the Wolves of the Beyond wiki! I have an awesome page there.
I think that's something we all want. Being able to live wherever you want to in the entire world, doing things at your own schedule, having whatever you want set up exactly as you wish...yeah, that's what I want more than anything these days.
Except maybe a boyfriend. XD
But of course, it's something I won't get for another four years at the least. I mean, of course I love my Mom and Dad more than anything, I love living with them, but I just want my own place so badly! I think we all know that feeling. Being free to make your own choices, who wouldn't love that?
Four years and three months from now, by the time I'm eighteen and have graduated from high school, I'll finally have it! I know where I'm going to live and what I'm going to do. I'…
Hi, fellow users of the Guardiansog Ga'Hoole Wiki! Just wanted to say, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! Have a good time with your friends and family :D
Remember, don't be a such a Kludd/Nyra/Hagsfiend, you'll end up on the naughty list. ;)19:43, December 25, 2011 (UTC)Lachlana
Im guessing the "Featured Article" that has been on the Main Page havent even been touched for more then a year. Im thinking we should change it once a month. A feature article should possess high quality information and content. So, under this blog you can bring up any article you think is worthy of being featured on the main page for December. Im thinking it should be Boron, since it has nice qualities and understandable content. If you think any other article should be brought up, please tell me in the comments.
