Chaw of Chaws

The Chaw of Chaws is an small band of owls, led by Soren. The group was originally made to rescue Ezylryb from the Pure Ones, but were major participants in more famous exploits such as the Siege, the Battle of The Beaks, the Battle of Fire and Ice, the Battle of Panqua Palace, the Battle of the Great Tree, and the War of the Ember.

History

The Rescue

The Band discovers that Ezylryb has been captured by the secretive organization called the Pure Ones, so they set out, accompanied by Otulissa, a Spotted Owl who eavesdrops on them and insists on joining. They discover the Pure Ones' abandoned fortress, and further investigation reveals that the organization uses small flecks of iron as weapons, which have the ability to disorient the gizzard and the mind. Upon learning this, they destroy the Devil's Triangle of flecks surroundingEzylryb and free him.

However, a group of Pure Ones, led by their leader, Metalbeak, attack the unaware Ga'Hoolian owls, who are joined by other owls from the Great Tree, Martin and Ruby, wielding burning branches. Soren, upon learning that the Pure One leader is in fact his long-lost brother, Kludd, melts his metal mask, sending Kludd fleeing in search of water. They return to the Great Tree and are greeted with cheers and rejoicing.

The Siege

The Chaw of Chaws are sent undercover to the canyons of St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls to discover if Pure Ones are infiltrating the organization, which has the largest supply of flecks in the owl world. After confirming that St. Aegolius has been infiltrated, Otulissa feeds their leaders misinformation regarding flecks. Soon after, they make their escape. Soren is badly injured, and he is only saved by the actions of the flying snake Slynella, whose venom has the ability to cure as well as kill. as they journey homeward, they discover the existence of a vast Pure One army, ready to lay siege on the Great Tree.

All attempts for a truce fail, and the siege on the Great Tree begins. After the northeastern section of the tree is heavily attacked by the Pure Ones, Soren conceives a plan to burrow through the great Tree and trap trap thePure Ones in a pincer movement. The plan works, and the Pure Ones retreat upon the arrival of Slynella.
