Fitzy is a dire wolf and the son of Fitzmore McFang, chieftain of the McFang Clan, and his fearless mate Adair. He and his parents were allies of King Coryn and joined him in his fight with the Pure One queen Nyra and her vyrrwolves.

Despite it being the mating season for dire wolves, Gyllbane and Coryn were able to find the McFangs, Fitzy among them, and recruit the clan chieftains to the small group of wolves they had been able to amass to fight the vyrrwolves of the MacHeath Clan, who the Band had discovered to be in an alliance with the remnants of the Tytonic Union of Pure Ones. Fitzy subsequently accompanied his parents to the Shadow Forest, where they were briefed on the situation and helped gather brush for their owl allies' firepower, then travelled in a press paw with the other wolves who had been found and joined Coryn. He subsequently participated in the Skirmish for the Book of Kreeth, which saw the end for the vyrrwolves.
