Grant Freckelton is an Australian artist, visual effects artist, art director and production designer. He was the art director on Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, and helped define the visual aesthetic and narrative of the movie. He'd previously worked with director Zack Snyder on 300 (2006), and later went on to be a production designer on some of Animal Logic's further animated endeavors, including The Lego Movie (2014) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017).

When interviewed for the Masters of Motion podcast, Freckelton mentioned that he's always had a wide range of interests, including bird watching and biology. He briefly considered becoming a zoologist before deciding to pursue art as a career.

Freckelton was nominated for the Best Visual Effects Satellite Award in 2010 for his work on Legend of the Guardians, alongside other members of the visual effects team. They ultimately lost to Alice in Wonderland.
