The Ice Dagger is an island in the Northern Kingdoms, west of Dark Fowl Island and east of Elsemere Island. It is where much of the ice for military-grade ice weapons is sourced. The Ice Dagger sourced the Kielian League in the War of the Ice Claws, and the Great Ga'Hoole tree in the War of Fire and Ice.
Harvesters scrape off pieces of ice, which are caught by small owls holding a bag below the harvest site, and apprentices. The pieces of ice are sharpened and shaped by Kielian Snakes, while metal weapons are forged by blacksmiths on Dark Fowl.
