Isa was a female Snowy Owl, or Bubo scandiacus, who was a gadfeather known for her beautiful singing voice until she was savagely killed by Blue Owl converts of the Pure Ones. She was also a close friend of Cleve.

Cleve, a friend
Isa's voice was noted to be renowned throughout the Northern Kingdoms and word of its beauty even found its way into the Southern ones. At an unspecified point in time, Isa met and befriended the prince-turned-healer Cleve, who she shared a close bond with to the point where Otulissa wondered if Cleve might have felt the faintest sliver of romance towards the Gadfeather. Cleve regarded Isa's voice as the most enchanting in all the Northern Kingdoms of owls.
The War of the Ember[]
When flying through the Ice Talons, Otulissa and Cleve chanced upon the carnage of a battlefield scattered not only with the feathers of Blue Owls, but also with both the feathers and bodies of both kraals and peaceful gadfeathers. Cleve soon recognized a creamy white feather to be from Isa's plumage and mere minutes later, the two Spotted Owls found Isa, alive, but not for long. Recognizing Cleve as he landed next to her and inquired whether it had been Kraals who committed the slaughter, Isa denied this, telling her friend the kraals had already been massacred when the gadfeathers arrived and bumped into a band of Dragon Owls carrying eggs, who then attacked the troubadour owls unprovoked, massacring them just as they had the pirates. Otulissa then urgently asked if the eggs were there, but Isa denied this, telling her that the ice here was bad for schneddenfyrrs to be created, only for the words to die on her beak as she exhaled her last breath and spoke no more.
