Lochinvyrr is a sacred ritual practiced by the dire wolves of the Beyond where the predator and prey lock eyes prior to the passing of the latter. This is meant to acknowledge that its death is honorable, as its meat will sustain the wolf who killed it. This final act is necessary for the prey to climb the spirit trail.
