Ludvigsen II was a Short-eared Owl, or Asio flammeus, from the Northern Kingdoms who served a distinguished career in the Kielian League. He was the great-grandfather of Captain Ludvigsen Asio Flammeus.

Before the Books[]
The son of a distinguished Kielian League fighter, Ludvigsen II, named after his father, followed his father's clawsteps as a warrior of the Kielian League that distinguished himself among the Ice Squires in battle against the League of the Ice Talons, then retired from fighting to train new cadets as a teacher of the Kielian Military Academy. At an unknown point in time, he became both a mate and the father of at least one owlet, who he gave the name Ludvigsen, just as his father had for him.

Ludvigsen II was mentioned by his great-grandson while Captain Ludvigsen recounted his family's custom of baring the name of the Other who classified the Short-eared owl species.
