Macbeth MacDuncan was a dire wolf and a member of the Sacred Watch of the Ember of Hoole. He was described as old gnaw wolf who possesses only three legs.

Macbeth is mentioned by Gwyndor when discussing the training of gnaw wolves with Hamish, especially jumping. Gwyndor recalls a tale of Macbeth MacDuncan leaping quite high despite his three legs many years ago and plucking an approaching Graymalkin from the air in the process. Given how Gwyndor refers to Macbeth in the past tense and tells how he "used" to be on the watch, it can be assumed he died prior to the events of the Chronicles of Coryn.
