Mook is a male Eastern Screech Owl, or Megascops asio, and was the pit guardian of Soren, Twilight and Ruby during their infiltration of St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls. His final fate is unknown, and it is most likely that he was killed by the Pure Ones when they conquered St. Aegolius or was conscripted into Kludd's army.

Mook, who had only recently been promoted to the position of Pit Guardian and been given the name Mook, dispensing of his former number, was made the Guardian of the pit where Soren, Twilight and Ruby had been placed in. He was noted by be an arrogant piece of work, likely due to his recent evaluation, who strutted around the pit he was designated to, snapping commands and making threats to any notion of questions, in direct contrast to the typical fatherly façade most pit guardians portrayed.
