The Previous Albah General was a leader of St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls that preceded Skench after the death of her rival. Apart from a passing mentioning by Grimble, where they were identified as the owl Skench succeeded as leader of the Canyonlands, nothing is known about them, including their gender, species or even how they perished, though they might have been assassinated by Skench or Ork, who began contending for the top job after their death.

When recounting how he had found himself in St. Aggie's, Grimble mentioned to Soren and Gylfie how, ever since the death of the former Ablah General, two seperate factions - the forces of Ork (a cousin to Jutt and Jatt) and those that followed Skench - had been warring for control for several years. This power struggle came to a sudden and abrupt end, however, when Grimble killed Ork in a snatching operation.
