Proudfoot was a Snowy Owl who lived during the time of legends, serving as the royal master-in-arms of King H'rathmore.
They are not to be confused with Proudfoot, a Snowy Owl who apparently lived after the reign of Hoole who was legendary for their excursions with Hot Beak.

Before the Books[]
Proudfoot was sent by His Royal Highness, the King H'rathmore, with Prince H'rath and his two best friends, Grank and Siv, to the Ice Dagger to oversee their training with ice weapons, a required skill in the kingdom of eternal power struggle such as the N'yrthghar was. Presumably under Proudfoot's tutelage, Grank and H'rath became fairly skilled ice knappers.
The First Collier[]
After discovering that the Glauxian Sisters had been placed under the control of the Nacht Ga', Grank, knowing that only a wound delivered by a splinter made of issen blaue ice, recalled his and his friends training at the Ice Dagger.
It is unknown what became of Proudfoot, but given the timeline, he most likely either retired or was killed in battle while fighting for H'rathmore in a hagsfiend insurrection or turnfeather owl lord rebellion.
