Skellig's Subordinates were a foursome of Eagle Owl soldiers belonging to the League of the Ice Talons.

History[]

The Rise of a Legend[]

Two of Skellig's Subordinates join the small gathering of owls at a grog tree frequented by Orf, distancing themselves from the other owls. As Orf, who Skellig had secretly drugged via his bingle juice, left at a wobbling flap, the two Eagle Owls kept their gazes fixated on the Rogue Smith, flipping their heads to continue to track their target, then taking flight and joining up Skellig, unseen by anyone but Thora Plonk, then with two other members of their species who had been hidden within the concealment of a heavily-boughed fir tree. The four Eagle Owls subsequently surrounded Orf and, under the command of Skellig, formed a windless chamber around Orf to escort him to their hideout on Elsemere Island, chattering with each other as they flew through a dense storm of hail, sleet and snow.

The Ice Talons intended to extract from Orf the recipe for cold coals, then use an abandoned forge on Stormfast (who, coincidently, had once belonged to Thora) to test the formula, killing Orf if it were a success, continuing their interrogations if it were a failure. While discussing their next move, the duplicitous owls suddenly had the hollow they were using visited by to alleged Glauxian Sisters, who claimed to have heard of a wounded soldier in need of medicine attention. Politely answered, Skellig and two of his henchowls were suddenly attacked by the Glauxian Sisters, who revealed themselves to be Thora and Lillium, the latter of whom swiftly pinned Skellig to the wall, while Orf swiftly came to his senses and blinded one of the Eagle Owls with a slash from a discarded battle claws. The three remaining Eagle Owls, who were in various states of readiness, subsequently found themselves faced with Orf, Lillium, Lyze, Thora and Moss and one of them revealed himself to be in possession of a flail with which he attempted to strike Lil down with, only for the flail to instead come crunching down on the head of the Eagle Owls leader, killing Skellig. Orf then took up the flail and pressed back at the Eagle Owl, who made a successful dash for the cave entrance. The arrival of Loki and Blix, however, spelled an end for the Eagle Owls, one of whom was speared through the heart with a lance thrown by Blix. The other two Eagle Owls were presumably killed similarly.
