“It beggars belief to think that these brave owlets would fly here, by themselves, to spin a fairytale.”
- Strix Struma to the parliament, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’HooleStrix Struma is a female Short-eared Owl and a ryb at the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. She is also a warrior and member of the parliament.
She looks similar to Otulissa, but is more elderly, larger, and has more striking face markings.
Strix Struma is first seen when the parliament are discussing Soren and Gylfie's report of the Pure Ones. She appears to vouch for Soren and Gylfie, calling them brave and stating how it seemed irrational that the two owlets would make such a treacherous journey alone just to tell the Guardians lies.
Strix Struma is next seen when the band are learning about the different chaws. She shows the band the star map in the parliament hollow, which Gylfie takes interest in, and is soon after seen training Soren in close combat with sticks.
She is seen again in the parliament when Allomere returns, confirming Soren and Gylfie's claims. She flies to St. Aegolius with the rest of the guardians, getting ensnared in the Pure Ones' fleck trap. Once Soren deactivates the trap, she joins the rest of the guardians in battle. Instead of battle claws, she wields two scimitars.
She is seen bowing to the band as they are about to be made guardians.
- In the books, she was a Spotted Owl and described as being around the same age as Ezylryb. In the movie, she is a Short-eared Owl and appears to be somewhat younger.
- Her name is only ever mentioned in the credits, and is never mentioned in the movie itself.
