Uklah's Conspirator was an unnamed male Barn Owl, or Tyto alba. Originally a Pure One slipgizzle dispatched to infiltrate St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls by Kludd, he turned secretly traitor and assisted in undoing the workings of the now enemy agents until he was exposed in the act, which was answered by instant attack and murder by one of his ex-confederates.
Personality[]
Next to nothing is known about the personality of this owl, but his decision to turn traitor implies he was disloyal, self-serving and/or cowardly. His willingness to switch his loyalties to Skench and Spoorn, neither of whom belonged to a species considered pure in the Pure Ones doctrine, furthermore, implies he was not the supremacist many of Kludd's followers were. He did not, however, seem to be too quick on his talons, blurting out a forbidden questioning of Twilight and not foreseeing the incoming danger of his murderous former comrades after his treachery was exposed.
History[]
The Siege[]
Because of both its richness in flecks and the vast quantity of snatched owls — primarily owlets that were of the perfect age to be molded into potential soldiers or slaves — St. Aggie's became the sight of Kludd's desires and the High Tyto subsequently dispatched several of his Pure Ones to infiltrate the Canyonlands as slipgizzles to assist the Union in bringing down their lesser rival, one of them being this owl.
Given an unknown number in replacement of his name, Uklah's Conspirator was able to successfully gain the position of a moss tender in the hatchery and, with several others tenders that were in reality followers of Kludd, began weaving flecks smuggled from the 'library' into the nests of Barn Owl eggs, the intention apparently being to shatter the owlets within and therefor place them under the Union's control, swelling their infiltration force.
This Pure One, alongside Purity and at least one other Barn Owl — a fellow slipgizzle who, like Uklah's Conspirator, had wormed their way into the position of moss tender — turned traitor, however and betrayed the ideals of Metal Beak to secretly align himself with Skench and Spoorn. The exact motivation behind such a shift in loyalty is never completely clarified, but it is possible the turnfeathers intended to play both sides, then fully swear themselves to the whichever side won the invasion that Kludd and Nyra were plotting to put into action. Whatever the incentive, the small collaboration of slipgizzles-turned-informants began working to undo their oblivious Pure One confederates' work and in this Pure One's case, his main role was subtly extracting the flecks woven into the moss of Barn Owl nests by those among the spies still committed to The High Tyto with the same tactic utilised to weave the magnetic particles in in the first place, maintaining the façade he was still a fanatic of Barn Owl supremacy.
Despite his attempts, thanks to an interrogation instigated by Purity (now known as Uklah), Skench and Spoorn alerted a third party from the Great Ga'Hoole Tree to the presence of not only infiltrators, but double agents as well, and with the assistance of Otulissa's manipulations of the Ablah General, the Chaw of Chaws identified all such Barn Owls, including Uklah's Conspirator.
At least two days after this discovery, Uklah's Conspirator, while carrying out his duty as a moss tender, approached a nest which 78-2 had woven flecks of higher magnetics into an hour before and was currently being brooded on by Twilight. Confronted as he moved to remove the fragments by the Great Gray, who exposed the intentions of the turnfeather to a room where several Pure Ones lurked. Inquiring instantly to what Twilight had just said, breaking the St. Aggie's law forbidding questioning in the process, Uklah's Conspirator was suddenly attacked by an enraged 78-2 for his clear betrayal of Kludd and savagely decapitated with a slash of the claw, his death marking the beginning of the savage battle that broke out as the Pure Ones tore at his fellow traitors, seeking to massacre the turnfeather slipgizzles for their betrayal of them and Kludd.
